Why have a standard home when you can have a SuperHome?
You may have seen the Homestar 10 rated houses in Addington on Church Square, you may have heard about how slab insulation is an absolute must if you are serious about retaining heat in your home, well you may not have heard however that many of the industries experts and energy efficient enthusiast are getting together to provide you with all the information and expertise you need to create a SuperHome of your own.
The SuperHome Movement is just that a movement, aimed towards providing New Zealand with a better standard of housing. We don’t need to be wiping the condensation down from our windows every morning or cleaning the mould out the back of our cupboards, no there is another way and that’s by asking the right questions before you start to build, and even before you start to design.
This ideal fits with the very motivation of Nook, which is why we thought of it as a great opportunity to join this non-profit group to help to spread the word for having a healthy efficient home……………….I know what your thinking, and no it doesn’t need to blow your budget out of the water. Whatever your budget, with careful designing and trade offs you can have a low energy home and it can be designed with you in mind, we may be 15-20 or so years behind Europe when it comes to house standards but we are catching up fast and that is directly to do with you, the client who has said no to the minimum standard of code and who has yes to investing properly into your future with a house that will not be hamstrung by rising power costs and increased health issues.
Keep any eye out as we at Nook in collaboration with ZBUILT unveil our SuperHome show home which is due mid 2016, also remember to sign up to our newsletter if you would like more information on whats going on in the great world of Architecture, Energy Efficiency and of course Nook.
